Descending from an old family of wine growers living in Courgis, farmers for generations since 1788 - doing mixed farming including cereal farming and, some years ago, cattle and ovine race breeding - the two brothers, Claude and Jean-Louis, decided to revive the ancestral activity in 1986.
Claude, who has a passion for wine, is in charge of the wine whereas Jean-Louis deals especially with the cereal farming.
We first planted in the districts of Beines and then in the districts of Courgis and Chablis. Each year, we plant on a small surface area which is granted by the body regulating the Controlled Appellations of Wine, but also by
Brussels.

We produce mainly Chablis wine because the appellation is stretches itself out on almost 13 hectares. The appellations are delimited by the geological areas of the secondary Jurassic, a Kimmeridgian soil made of limestone and clay.
It is the best soil for the Chardonnay which is the only grape variety allowed to produce the Chablis wine. It gives finesse, fruitness and mineral flavours.
Our production is composed of 3 appellations:
- Petit Chablis: 1,5 hectares (3,7 acres)
- Chablis: 13 hectares (32 acres)
- Chablis 1er Cru.: 0,4 hectares (1 acre) |
